All players must show up ON TIME (see schedule) with proof of USCF membership. All players must play for their home state. Recent Chess Life magazine label is proof of residency. All players MUST HAVE A USCF RATING. No exceptions. Unrated players may play in the Reserve Section if there is one.
Time Controls: Time limit for all games is Game/90 with a 5 sec delay. The TD has the option to shorten the basic time control for time-delay clocks per USCF rule 5Fa. Preferred clocks are digital per USCF rules. Schedule: Registration and check-in 8:30-9:45 AM. Cutoff is strictly 9:45 AM. Rounds: Sunday, April 22nd - Round 1 - 10:00AM, Round 2 - 2:30PM. Lunch will be between rounds. Team Captains: Tom Crane (Texas) and Tom Nichols (Oklahoma). Prizes: Winning team wins possession of traveling trophy and bragging rights until next Shootout. No other prizes. Equipment:
Bring sets, boards, and clocks. Some sets and boards provided. No clocks
provided. Appeals committee: Each team captain appoints 2 experienced TDs from their teams in case of an appeal to a TD ruling. Pairings: Number One from Oklahoma plays Number One from Texas. Number Two’s play each other. Number Three’s, etc. Restrictions: There is a 400-point limit between match participants In case of tie: Texas (current holder) is declared the winner with bragging rights Emergency withdrawals: If a player must leave before Round Two the players ranked below on the same team shall move up one board. If a player is available from the reserve section, they may play in Round Two on the lowest ranked board for their State. If no players are available from the reserve section, the last board is not paired and no forfeit wins are awarded. The number of playing boards will NOT be increased.
